Strasburg made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,403 from 4,270. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 36-26 victory over Fort Lupton last week.
The Indians led 2A Patriot in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on the Blue Devils. Jacob Smith ran for 196 yards during the win.
Fort Lupton's dynamic duo of Jeff Merritt and Ian McPeek proved to be unstoppable against Strasburg, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Merritt threw for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns and McPeek had 74 yards receiving. Jalen Vasquez helped Fort Lupton's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 61 yards.
Jeff Priestley's team's dynamic duo of Merritt and McPeek proved tough for Jeff Giger's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He was 18-36 with 2 interceptions.
Smith was the most successful running back in the league this week. Detmer Oliver also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
Merritt put up the best numbers through the air as the Blue Devils lost to the Indians.
McPeek was the best wideout in the league this week as Fort Lupton lost to Strasburg.
5-foot-11 quarterback Merritt of the Blue Devils is the league leader in passing yards this season with 530. He has also thrown 6 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Davis Anders. The Eaton star has 14 catches for 226 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Patriot this week will be when Brush takes on Platte Valley. The Beetdiggers are in fourth place, while the Broncos are in third place.
Smith broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 55-yard run against Fort Lupton.
