Basketball Recap: Holy Trinity Takes a Loss

Holy Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the St. Anthony's Friars and fell 70-22. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 63-22 to the Friars when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Holy Trinity saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Desiree Smith posted six points and 16 rebounds. Smith has been hot, having posted 12 or more boards the last six times she's played.

Holy Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for St. Anthony's, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Holy Trinity will take on St. Dominic at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The Bayhawks' defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Anthony's, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. John's Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
