Volleyball Recap: Seneca Bobcats vs. Pickens Blue Flame

Seneca was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pickens Blue Flame. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Flame this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Seneca had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Pickens was led to victory by Natalie Hunter and Rylan Nichols. Hunter had 15 digs and two aces, while Nichols had eight digs and four aces. Hunter is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Seneca's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Pickens, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-4.

Seneca and Pickens should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Bobcats will square off against Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (50 vs. 127). Meanwhile, Pickens (ranked fifth) will meet Travelers Rest (ranked 122nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
