Basketball Recap: East Carteret Takes a Loss

East Carteret played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Northside - Pinetown Panthers, falling 60-37. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Panthers are ranked 150th).

Tatianna Moore had an outrageously good game for Northside - Pinetown as she went 11-for-20 en route to 22 points and six steals. Thanks to that strong game, Moore now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Madison Scheffler was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

East Carteret's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Northside - Pinetown, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.

As of now, neither East Carteret nor Northside - Pinetown have any future games scheduled.
