Mount Vernon entered their tilt with Blaine on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They blew past the Borderites 15-2. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Blaine, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mount Vernon will take on rival Sedro-Woolley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Blaine is set to challenge their familiar foe Anacortes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Borderites 3.8, the Seahawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
