Baseball Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. Esperanza Aztecs

For the second straight game, Troy will face off against Esperanza. The Warriors will host the Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Troy has three straight wins, Esperanza has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Esperanza's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Troy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Aztecs a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Troy's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Esperanza, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
