Baseball Game Preview: North Forest Bulldogs vs. Northside Panthers

The North Forest Bulldogs will take on the Northside Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Forest's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Yates 17-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Northside put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Furr.

Tristen Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Conner Amos was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Chris Huerta was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Northside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .643 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Northside pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for North Forest, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

North Forest suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Northside when the teams last played back in April of 2015. Can North Forest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
