Softball Recap: Wellesley Victorious

Wellesley's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Newton South Lions by a score of 9-6. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2017.

The team relied heavily on Abby Brown, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maya Lee, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wellesley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wellesley's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Newton South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Wellesley will square off against Weymouth at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newton South, they will challenge Concord-Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
