Basketball Game Preview: Merritt Island Mustangs vs. Trinity Prep Saints

After both having extra time off, the Merritt Island Mustangs and the Trinity Prep Saints will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merritt Island is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Two weeks ago, Merritt Island didn't have quite enough to beat Satellite and fell 47-44. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Scorpions 15-7 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Trinity Prep came into Saturday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Merritt Island Christian 58-39 last Saturday.

Trinity Prep's win came from a few key players Merritt Island will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Hull, who went 13 for 20 on his way to 31 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Stillman, who posted nine points along with seven boards and four steals.

Trinity Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Merritt Island, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
