Baseball Recap: Wright Tech Comes Up Short

Wright Tech had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it four. They lost 13-2 to the Wolcott RVT Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in April.

As for Wolcott RVT, their win bumped their record up to 10-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

For Wolcott RVT's part, Daniel Mazzetti was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Mazzetti a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jason Miller was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Robbie Nellson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
