Basketball Game Preview: Manning Monarchs vs. Marion Swamp Foxes

The Manning Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Marion Swamp Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Manning slipped by Mullins 56-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Monarchs.

Ameerah Conyers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 25 boards. She has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last six times she's played.

Manning smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Marion sidestepped Waccamaw for a 39-37 victory.

Marion's win came from a few key players Manning will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaeda Davis, who posted 16 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Marion's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristin Shaw, who put up ten points.

Manning's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. As for Marion, their record is now 8-6.

Manning beat Marion 54-47 in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Does Manning have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
