Recap: Twin Lakes Indians vs. Crawfordsville Athenians
The Twin Lakes Indians waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 45-32 victory over Crawfordsville. Given Twin Lakes' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Crawfordsville is ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Gavin Businger, who scored 15 points along with three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jamison Ousley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Crawfordsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Patton, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Alec Saidan, who scored eight points.
Crawfordsville struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Twin Lakes' win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Crawfordsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Twin Lakes' road trip will continue as they head out to face Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Twin Lakes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. As for Crawfordsville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Danville at 7:30 p.m.
