Softball Game Preview: Grafton Black Hawks vs. Nicolet Knights

Grafton is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Nicolet a 17-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Grafton Black Hawks will be playing at home against the Nicolet Knights at 4:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Grafton's offense. They fell 4-0 to Whitefish Bay on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Grafton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Weishan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Nicolet also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Port Washington on Tuesday, falling 17-0.

Nicolet's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Grafton took their victory against Nicolet in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Black Hawks repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
