Basketball Recap: Orem Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Orem and Mountain View squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Orem had to settle for second. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain View Bruins. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Mountain View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaycee Carlson led the charge by dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Carlson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Saralynn Hair, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Orem's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Mountain View, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Orem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain View, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-53 defeat against Cedar on the 14th.
