Basketball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Dixon Bulldogs

The South Lenoir Blue Devils will head out to face off against the Dixon Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Lenoir knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Dixon likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, South Lenoir beat Union 75-62.

Meanwhile, Dixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of South Brunswick. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 14-7 in the first quarter.

South Lenoir will have to contain Noah Wright as he made an impact in Dixon's last game. He posted 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The contest was Wright's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Grady Adams was another key player, putting up ten points.

South Lenoir now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

South Lenoir didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Dixon when the teams last played last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 61-57 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wright, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 11 boards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Blue Devils still be able to contain Wright? There's only one way to find out.
