Softball Recap: Upper Sandusky Rams vs. Mohawk Warriors

Upper Sandusky extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 17-7 in the process. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mohawk Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 last Saturday.

Madison Hart and Carly Boes stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hart went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Boes got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Wengerd, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Mohawk, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The win was nothing new for Mohawk as they're now sitting on seven straight.

On Mohawk's side, they let Mallory Brickner and Katie Woodland run wild. Brickner went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Woodland went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Brickner has posted since back in April. Trenna Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Upper Sandusky does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mohawk, they will challenge Hilltop at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.4, the Cadets 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
