There's no place like home for Athens Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Purple Hurricanes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Athens Academy easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-20.

Sally Swann paced Athens Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Swann got some help from Lucy Wages and her 13 assists. Riley Muir controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Athens Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Monroe Area, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Coincidentally, Athens Academy and Monroe Area will both be playing Morgan County the next time they take the court. The Purple Hurricanes will head out to face the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
