Baseball Recap: Hackettstown Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Hackettstown waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against Dover as they made off with a 12-2 win. Considering Hackettstown has won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Joey Rowinski was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Myles Hatten was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hackettstown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Dover, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hackettstown will host Wallkill Valley on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.4, the Rangers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Dover, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lenape Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
