Basketball Recap: Canastota Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Canastota Red Raiders were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to the Utica Academy of Science Atoms.

Jada Morris went supernova for Utica Academy of Science, putting up 28 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lejla Kendic, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Canastota's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Utica Academy of Science, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Canastota has already played their next game (against Chittenango), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Utica Academy of Science wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-42 victory against Sauquoit Valley on the 16th.
