Basketball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern was the 61-52 winner over Clymer Central when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Southwestern Trojans were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 44-43 to the Clymer Central Pirates. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 12-6 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clymer Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roman Wassink, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. Kameron Einink was another key player, putting up nine points and eight steals.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Clymer Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Southwestern will challenge Chautauqua Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clymer Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pine Valley Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
