Soccer Game Preview: Perry vs. Highland

Perry has won seven straight games at home, while Highland has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Perry Pumas will welcome the Highland Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Perry is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Desert Mountain, who was ranked 13th at the time (Perry was ranked sixth). Perry never let Desert Mountain onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday. The Pumas haven't had any issues with Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Ella Griffin and Saydie Herbert scored both of Perry's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 30 goals.

Meanwhile, Highland got the win against Hamilton on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. Considering the Hawks have won 15 games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Highland, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Perry came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Perry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
