Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Calvary Baptist Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down the Genesee Wolves 59-43 on Friday.

Calvary Baptist Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gauge Roy, who went 11 of 16 on his way to 26 points. Those 26 points gave Roy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Schwartzkopf, who dropped a double-double on 14 rebounds and ten assists.

Genesee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tristan Aguliar, who posted 12 points and four steals. Brandon Rouse was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Calvary Baptist Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Genesee, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Calvary Baptist Academy will head out to challenge Central Montcalm at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genesee, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-37 loss against Morrice on the 27th.
