Baseball Recap: East Chicago Central Takes a Loss

East Chicago Central lost against Lake Station Edison back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals lost 26-14 to the Fighting Eagles. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abran Gomez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for East Chicago Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Christian Rios, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

East Chicago Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lake Station Edison, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.
