St. Helena waltzed into their contest on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Upper Lake Cougars with a sharp 15-0 win. The Saints have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

St. Helena got a massive performance out of Journey Penterman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave Penterman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tahlia Smith, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

St. Helena pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Upper Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Helena will head out to challenge Clear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Upper Lake, they will head out on the road to take on Fort Bragg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
