Basketball Game Preview: Red Bay Tigers vs. Humboldt Vikings

The Red Bay Tigers will take on the Humboldt Vikings in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Red Bay took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Belmont by a score of 63-52.

Red Bay found their leader in freshman Khalil Luster, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Luster is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played.

Meanwhile, Humboldt might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Peabody an easy 81-59 victory. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Golden Tide are ranked 29th).

Red Bay is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Humboldt, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
