Baseball Recap: Red Level's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Red Level hadn't done well against Luverne recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Red Level came out on top against Luverne by a score of 6-3. This was payback for Red Level, who suffered a 15-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Buddy Griffin made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tanner Whatley was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Jacob Walden also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Red Level's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Luverne, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Level will face off against Pleasant Home at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Home has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.4 runs per game on average), something Red Level will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Luverne, they will take on Highland Home at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
