Baseball Recap: Desert Christian Academy Beats California Military Institute for Their Third Straight Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the California Military Institute Rough Riders on Friday. With that victory, the Conquerors brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Christian Adamson made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jesse Snellenberger was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Westin Abarrate, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Desert Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as California Military Institute only posted an OBP of .222.

The win (which was Desert Christian Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only three in the others. As for California Military Institute, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
