Softball Recap: Shorecrest's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Shorecrest suffered their closest defeat since March 28, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Mountlake Terrace Hawks by a score of 8-6. The loss continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost five in a row.

Riu Hanrahan was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Hanrahan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lyla Ann Taing, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shorecrest fell to 3-1. As for Mountlake Terrace, their record now sits at an identical 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shorecrest will host Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shorecrest's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cascade has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Mountlake Terrace, they will be playing at home against Meadowdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
