Red Cloud extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Blue Hill Bobcats

The Red Cloud Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 56-51 W over Blue Hill. This was payback for Red Cloud, who suffered a 32-30 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Among those leading the charge was Logan Brown, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Kari Kucera was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Blue Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reece Mlady. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Mlady hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Avaley Toepfer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Red Cloud pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Blue Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Red Cloud will head out on the road to challenge Heartland Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lawrence-Nelson at 6:00 p.m.
