Basketball Recap: Marshall Academy Starts off Right with Win over Tekonsha

Marshall Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by the Tekonsha Indians to the tune of 67-27. With the Griffons ahead 40-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Delray White, who went 9 of 21 on his way to 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Olu'Shola Kemp, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Tekonsha is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jackson Preparatory & Early College at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Tekonsha will take on Hillsdale Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
