Softball Recap: St. Croix Falls Triumphs

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but St. Croix Falls ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Northwestern Tigers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Saints have posted since May 10, 2024.

Faith Allram spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Claire Bradt, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Madi Johnson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases.

St. Croix Falls' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Northwestern, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

St. Croix Falls will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
