Basketball Game Preview: Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees vs. Llano Yellowjackets

The Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees will face off against the Llano Yellowjackets at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Stephenville lost 68-44 to Gordon on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Llano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Bandera. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1554th, while the BULLDOGS are ranked 502nd).

Stephenville will have to keep a close watch on Carl Schutte and Konrad Zwicke, a pair of players who had a big impact on Llano's prior game. Schutte posted 23 points, while Zwicke earned 18 points. The dominant performance gave Schutte a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxon Johnson, who had seven points.

Stephenville's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for Llano, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-23.
