Basketball Game Preview: South Elgin Storm vs. West Aurora Blackhawks

South Elgin has won eight straight games at home, while West Aurora has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The South Elgin Storm will host the West Aurora Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but likely not for long.

Last Tuesday, South Elgin beat Glenbard North 52-40. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Panthers are ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for West Aurora against Elmwood Park on Tuesday as the squad secured a 53-17 victory. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

South Elgin is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for West Aurora, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
