Basketball Recap: Culbertson Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

While Culbertson has struggled on the road with nine straight losses, that wasn't the case on Friday thanks to Plenny Williams. The Culbertson Cowboys took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-28 victory over the Lambert/Richey R&L Fusion thanks in part to Williams, who went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Deen, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and five steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Culbertson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Lambert/Richey, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Culbertson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Plentywood at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Plentywood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Culbertson likes a good challenge. Lambert/Richey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
