Volleyball Recap: Cowan Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cowan and Wapahani squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cowan had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Raiders. The loss continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, 25-9.

Gabby Webb paced Cowan's offense, picking up two kills. Webb got some help from Demi Abbott and her four assists. Finally, Webb was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Cowan's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Wapahani, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5.

Looking ahead, Cowan will challenge Alexandria-Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wapahani, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Delta on the 4th.
