Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Alexander Spartans

The River Valley Raiders will square off against the Alexander Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, River Valley didn't have too much trouble with Dawson-Bryant as they won 45-26.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alexander, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down Nelsonville-York 55-38 on Wednesday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Buckeyes are ranked 556th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Valley has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Alexander, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
