Football Game Preview: Pana Panthers vs. Staunton/Bunker Hill Bulldogs

Pana has gone a perfect 4-0 against Staunton/Bunker Hill recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will head out to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Staunton/Bunker Hill took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pana, who comes in off a win.

Pana is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 47-7 win over Greenville. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Pana's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Moore, who threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 97 yards and one score on only nine carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave Moore a new career-high. Pana's leading receiver Cash Lynch was Moore's top target yet again, picking up 47 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 67 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pana was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 181 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Staunton/Bunker Hill lost 44-22 to Hillsboro on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Staunton/Bunker Hill's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Pana, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Everything came up roses for Pana against Staunton/Bunker Hill in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
