Volleyball Recap: New Braunfels' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but New Braunfels unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Lake Travis Cavaliers. The Unicorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

Shaylie Schaefer paced New Braunfels' offense, picking up nine kills. Schaefer got some help from Kingsley Minus and her 16 assists. Minus was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

New Braunfels' loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Lake Travis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

New Braunfels wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Round Rock on the 23rd. As for Lake Travis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Canyon on the 23rd.
