Softball Game Preview: San Luis Obispo Tigers vs. Atascadero Greyhounds

San Luis Obispo hasn't had much luck against Atascadero recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greyhounds at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (San Luis Obispo has three straight wins, Atascadero has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

San Luis Obispo played against Santa Maria on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Atascadero came up short against Templeton on Tuesday, falling 16-1.

Atascadero saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devyn Dutra, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Melisilei Tonga also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

San Luis Obispo's victory bumped their record up to 13-9-1. As for Atascadero, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

San Luis Obispo suffered a grim 22-8 defeat to Atascadero in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
