Softball Recap: Holgate Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stryker on Thursday, Holgate came back down to earth. Holgate fell just short of Liberty Center by a score of 8-7 on Saturday. Holgate was not able to make up for their defeat to Liberty Center from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Mia Kelly was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Lyndee Palte also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Holgate's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Liberty Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holgate will take on Miller City at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Liberty Center, they will challenge Patrick Henry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
