Softball Game Preview: Edison Vikings vs. Summerville Bears

The Edison Vikings will challenge the Summerville Bears at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Edison saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 16-7 margin over Grace Davis.

The team relied heavily on Angeleya Miranda, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Ileanna Franco was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Summerville came up short against Pitman on Tuesday and fell 14-11. The loss was the Bears' first of the season.

Summerville's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Edison, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Edison beat Summerville 8-5 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Edison repeat their success, or does Summerville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
