Flag Football Game Preview: Agoura Chargers vs. Thousand Oaks Lancers

The Agoura Chargers will venture away from home to face off against the Thousand Oaks Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Agoura is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29 points per game this season.

Thousand Oaks will be up against a hot Agoura team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Chargers blew past Oaks Christian 26-6 on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Chargers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Lions are ranked 493rd).

Claire Heisinger was her usual excellent self, throwing for 277 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.1% of her passes. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played. 89 of Heisinger's passing yards were hauled in by Jenna Grudsky, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Agoura didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Heisinger and Grudsky. Grudsky got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Thousand Oaks fell victim to Westlake and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Thousand Oaks' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1. As for Agoura, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Agoura was able to grind out a solid victory over Thousand Oaks in their previous meeting back in September, winning 26-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
