Lincoln is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Des Moines East: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lincoln blew Des Moines East out of the water with a 35-6 final score. Jayden Fujii and Jayce Shanno were among the main playmakers for Jefferson as the former threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes and the latter gained 163 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Fujii a new career-high in rushing yards.

Lincoln now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Jefferson, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
