Baseball Recap: Oak Forest Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reavis, Oak Forest was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Thornton Fractional North Meteors as they made off with an 18-2 win. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Meteors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Evan Gamboa made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Morin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Danny Chopp was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
