After a string of four wins, South Beloit's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 2-0 to the Dakota Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Saturday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Dakota scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Serena Hoffman paced South Beloit's offense, picking up five kills. Hoffman got some help from Macey Lineman and her eight assists. Finally, Charlie O'Brien kept South Beloit's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Natalie Bartha, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last ten matches.

South Beloit's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Dakota, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

South Beloit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln Academy on the 16th. As for Dakota, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Pearl City on the 16th.
