Basketball Preview: Grand County Red Devils vs. San Juan Broncos
The Grand County Red Devils and the San Juan Broncos will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Grand County and eight for the Broncos.
Last Saturday, Grand County came up short against the Eagles and fell 56-44. Grand County has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cadence Kasprick, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Ainsleigh Kasprick was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, San Juan took a serious blow against the Braves on Saturday, falling 61-28. While losing is never fun, San Juan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Braves are ranked 15th).
Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for San Juan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season.
Grand County beat the Broncos 46-38 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Grand County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
