Baseball Game Preview: Sterling Raiders vs. Galena Park Yellowjackets

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Galena Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sterling Raiders will head out to square off against the Galena Park Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m.

Sterling is leaving town to face Galena Park after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Sterling came up short against Galena Park on Tuesday, falling 15-0.

For Galena Park's part, Miguel Daniel made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits Daniel has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jesus Resendez was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Emmanuel Garcia also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Sterling suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Galena Park when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can Sterling avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
