Basketball Game Preview: Lapeer Lightning vs. Central Wolves

The Lapeer Lightning will take on the Central Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lapeer was handed a 39-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Midland, sneaking past 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lightning have posted against the Chemics since March 3, 2016.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by Kearsley 87-58. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 560th, while the Hornets are ranked 134th).

Lapeer's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
