Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pleasant Valley). They put the hurt on the Clear Lake Cardinals with a sharp 11-4 win on Friday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Holden Franks looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Scotty McKeown was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Wynkoop, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Pleasant Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pleasant Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clear Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
