Baseball Recap: Kobe Syder Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sebeka

While Wadena-Deer Creek's victory against Sebeka wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Thursday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Connor Dutke's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wadena-Deer Creek is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Wadena-Deer Creek's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kobe Syder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Hunter Sweere also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wadena-Deer Creek's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Sebeka, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Wadena-Deer Creek will face off against Menahga at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sebeka, they will be playing at home against Pillager at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
